The Evolution of Sonor Hardware

1969

Crude by today's standards, in 1969 Sonor hardware represented the pinnacle of the art for its time. Those of us who owned and suffered with the American offerings of the same period can really appreciate these stands. I personally had Rogers, Ludwig and Slingerland stands & pedals of 60's vintage, and they were all TERRIBLE.
Had I been using Sonor stands then, I would wager they would still be in use today.
Note that Sonor must have sold the "Standard" designs to AKG at some point. The bases look suspiciously like AKG mic stands that appeared in the mid-late 70's.

HOLDERS:

Remember, this is 1969. Can you think of any 60's manufacturer who was making mounting hardware this substantial? Most American companies were JUST phasing out the Walberg & Auge Rail Consolette and Diamond Plates!
Sorry Rogers, no cigar!
