Over the last few years, I have become a full-fledged Sonor Geek....when I got the first white sparkle kit, (maple heavys--I later sold all but the snare!), I knew I was onto something, then when I got the big blue stain maple light kit, I was hooked big time...now I have entirely too much Sonor stuff, but I really enjoy having different sizes/finishes to choose from. I keep them tuned differently, and depending on the gig, I'll take the big rock 'n roll sizes, or the jazzier sizes, or the versatile 20"...  Also, lately I've been getting into picking up singles and resizing them into snare drums.  The birch snares I made out of a birch Designer 11x13 tom, I made a 6x13 and a 4x13, they sound fantastic!  I've learned how to do pretty nice bearing edges and snare beds, and they've been coming out nicely.  The 5x10 white sparkle is a killer little drum.
