1950's Sonor

in absence of a 1950's catalog here are some 1950's kit pics

Gerd Stegner in Germany sent me these pics last year. I wish I'd bought the kit from him, even though it looks pretty ugly here...

The shells are 20, 13 and 16, pretty much standard 50's fare.

On close inspection (bottom right picture) one can see that they were made from beech even then and this particular shell set looks to be in round and in good condition, though needing a rewrap and rechroming. The psychadelic finish is contact paper so I was told...

Note the lack of inserts on the lugs and the two-screw clamping on the tom bracket. I wonder if there was any kind of memory lock-like device to keep the tom holder from sliding into the bass drum?
